China Korean War Propaganda Collection: On 3 October 1950, China attempted to warn the United States by way of its embassy in India that it would intervene if UN forces crossed the Yalu River. The United States did not respond as policymakers in Washington, including Truman, considered the warning to be a bluff. In late October 1950, China sent approximately 260,000 troops to fight in North Korea. (Wikipedia)
